The Archives holdings includes numerous scrapbook collections ranging from the early 1900s through to the 1990s. Many of these scrapbooks have been indexed. Click on the individual Scrapbook Indexes below (in PDF) and search by keyword.

J. (Siteman) Edwards Scrapbook – Lower Ship Harbour
Jessie Elinor (Siteman) Edwards (1879-1975), a resident of Lower Ship Harbour, began her scrapbook of local interest stories clipped from newspapers around 1915. Her daughter, Anita (Edwards) Bailey (1913-2002) carried on the tradition.
C. (Glawson) Connors Scrapbook – Spry Bay
Carrie Elizabeth (Glawson) Connors (1890-1955) was born and lived her entire life in Spry Bay. This scrapbook contains primarily clippings from the Second World War, when many members of the local communities were reported on in the papers.
Scrapbook Collection Indexes
The archives has assembled indexes to many of the scrapbooks in their collection. Below is a list of the larger collections. Each index is a viewable PDF alphabetized list of the clippings contained in the scrapbooks. The PDFs can be searched by keyword. The archives is able to provide copies of clippings for an administration fee.
Index to Jessie (Siteman) Edwards Scrapbook Collection
This index covers three scrapbooks, Book 1 is featured on this site as a flipbook with a beautiful cover and early set of clippings from newspapers beginning around the time of the First World War. Many clippings cover local interest stories from the Ship Harbour “loop” communities. Books 2 and 3 cover more recent times.
Index to C. (Glawson) Connors Scrapbook
This single scrapbook is featured as a flipbook on this site. It has a significant number of newspaper clippings related to the Second World War and covers many families from the Spry Bay area communities.
Grace (Williams) Forsythe Scrapbook Collection
This collection consists of twenty-seven scrapbooks containing clippings of local interest, the majority of which were created by Grace (Williams) Forsythe (1919-2014). The earliest scrapbooks were created by her mother, Mrs. E. S. Williams (Ada Harpell Williams). One scrapbook contains clippings of obituaries from 1935-1978 and was created by Helen Jennex.
Helen (Mitchell) Jennex Scrapbook
This single scrapbook ranges from 1940s through to the 1970s, and is comprised of mostly obituaries from the Jeddore Oyster Pond area, which was where Helen (1912-1986) lived and taught for many years.
Hazel Pearl (Bond) Mosher Scrapbook
This collection of five scrapbooks is comprised of many news worthy items relating to the Eastern Shore as well as obituaries and other clippings taken from newspapers. Hazel (1902-1986) grew up in Head Chezzetcook, and many of these clippings relate to families from that area.
